ACCESS & PROPERTY

The property is accessed via a prepared and well-maintained public road. A large car-park, adjacent to the house, can hold several vehicles. High hedging provides the lower house floor with full privacy while a sprawling flat lawn, opposite the car-park, can be used for playing, entertaining, BBQing, tending a bonfire, or relaxation. A prepared step-stone path leads towards the jungle-clad interior of the property – first stop is the large timber cabin with the final destination finding you at the magical rainforest river.

MAIN HOUSE

The house is entered via the top floor (via the car-park) or the bottom floor (via the front gate). The top floor holds an open-concept kitchen and living area including a breakfast bar, as well as a bathroom. The kitchen is large, spacious, and fully equipped while the living area lazily sprawls over most of the floor-space. Beautiful, soaring timber vault ceilings & skylight elevate and animate the house while enormous windows and patio doors bring in natural light and the stunning jungle, mountain and ocean views that grace the space from every direction.

A patio, complete with a hammock, looks onto the tropical jungles and majestic 1,300-meter high coastal mountains while, on the opposite side, a large veranda brings rainforest, palm plantation, cattle-ranch, mangrove, and Pacific Ocean views – including the Térraba -Sierpe Wetlands, Osa Peninsula, Cano Island, Corcovado National Park and the mangrove-maze of the Térraba River Delta. The sunsets are said to be spectacular! Both the patio and veranda are protected by the beautiful timber roof overhangs.

Downstairs are the two en suite bedrooms – the master bedroom is enormous, including a relaxation area and a covered patio which overlooks the jungles and mountains. The huge en-suite shower gives a floor-to-ceiling view of the surrounding rainforest, seemingly an arm’s-reach away. The second bedroom is large and includes a private patio as well as an en-suite with similarly spectacular natural views. The bottom floor also includes a fully equipped laundry room.

CABIN

A short stroll along the lush pathway brings you to the 1-bedroom cabin, a timber masterpiece! Every piece of this structure is made of timber – from the veranda floorboards to the walls, doors, bed-frames and ceilings. Beautiful timber cabinets, tables and furniture add to the feelings of warmth and relaxation. The floor space is split between a large kitchen / dining / living area and a single bedroom. A bathroom with a shower sits at the far end of the cabin, a separate space under the same roof. 360-degree wrap-around veranda, under the overhanging timber roof, reminds of the long-gone old-world charm.

The cabin is surrounded by towering tropical trees – this deep inside a rainforest you never know what amazing creature may greet you – macaws, toucans, monkeys, anteaters, sloths, blue morpho butterflies? Just imagine the jungle chorus that will see you off to bed or greet you every morning!

RIVER, SWIMHOLES & WATERFALL

The meandering step-stone path leads through the towering jungles and lush tropical undergrowth as it takes you to a secret paradise – a mountain river complete with burbling cascades and a horsetail waterfall. Swim-holes abound – imagine relaxing in the cool & crystal waters with your family or guests, a refreshing drink in hand, the sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest extending above you and in every direction? THE TRES RIOS AREA

While this property seems to stand in the depths of a jungle, modern civilization is minutes away. The nearby Costanera highway will take you to towns like Palmar, Ojochal and Uvita where you will find all the services and amenities you could ever need.
