QUINTA DA CAPELA

Esta casa do século XVII é um solar com Capela, da invocação de Nª Sª de Guadalupe, tida como a mais antiga da Freguesia de Aldeias, Armamar.
Foi-lhe instituído o vínculo da Capela (um dos mais ricos de toda a Diocese de Lamego) por Manuel Cardoso Madeira, em 21 de Novembro de 1679. O seu precioso Tombo perdeu-se (juntamente com outros documentos) no grande incêndio que, em Dezembro de 1999 consumiu todo o interior e recheio da Casa, esta, entretanto integralmente restaurada no respeito pela traça primitiva.
A sua pedra de armas é dos Cardosos, Fonsecas e Madeiras.
A Capela vem mencionada em algumas obras, nomeadamente o excelente trabalho de J. Gonçalves Monteiro, “Subsídios para a Monografia do Concelho de Armamar”.
A casa e capela fazem parte igualmente dos postais turísticos editados pela Câmara Municipal de Armamar, numa reprodução de vista da casa e capela num magnífico desenho à pena.
